Happy mood tied to food

Want to feel happier? Eat more fruits and veggies. Increasing daily fruit and veggie consumption can have a significant impact on one’s level of happiness, a new major scientific study has discovered.
Individuals who consumed little to no veggies and fruits daily experienced a substantial boost in their life satisfaction once they consume eight portions of fruit and veggies daily, researchers at the University of Warwick discovered. In fact, just adding one additional serving of fruit or veggies in a day even improved mood, they say.
The study in the American Journal of Public Health tracked the dietary habits of 12,000 randomly selected people. The study participants kept food diaries and their psychological well-being was measured over 2007, 2009 and 2013. The researchers discovered the results were significant within two years of improving the diet.
